Inspiration
The beat for No Limits has been in head for decades. It reminds me of the pop jingles from my childhood, and I love the syncopation of the tune. The message is very simple, as it is the creed by which I live: no limits.
I wanted a person to listen to this song and feel great about life. But I always wanted to convey the idea that once you’ve learned how to free yourself, you can then discover a partner to share that wonderful feeling.
No Limits [Pop]
Verse 1
Born where the city’s pulse never slows,
A kid with sharp eyes, where the neon glows.
Heard the subway’s roar, the street vendors’ call,
Every corner a lesson, every shadow a sprawl.
Dodged through the crowds where the skyscrapers climb,
Learned the beat of the hustle, kept his dreams in time.
From the asphalt jungle to the rooftop’s view,
He saw a world where his future broke through.
Pre-Chorus
Oh, he felt it rise, like a spark in the air,
America’s promise was callin’ him there.
Every step, every fall, was a lesson to claim,
He’d turn it to fire, he’d fuel the flame.
Chorus
No limits, no chains, I’m runnin’ free!
This land’s got a heartbeat, it’s singin’ to me.
From the mountains to the skyline, I’m chasin’ the light,
I can do anything under these stars tonight!
No limits, no fear, I’m takin’ my shot,
Every door’s wide open, I’m givin’ it all I got.
With the world in my hands and my soul takin’ flight,
No limits, I’m livin’ this life tonight!
Verse 2
Grew up fast, but he never lost sight,
Traded schoolyard dreams for a city’s bright lights.
He’d talk to the poets, the hustlers, the kings,
Learned the weight of a dollar, the pull of a string.
Every job was a ladder, every night was a school,
He carved his own path, broke every rule.
With a heart full of hunger and a mind sharp as steel,
He built a life where the truth was real.
Oh, he saw it clear, like a map in the stars,
America’s freedom was his to go far.
Every chance, every choice, was a spark to ignite,
He’d live it full-throttle, he’d own the night.
Bridge
Then she walked in, like a song on the breeze,
Eyes like the ocean, heart wild as the trees.
She matched his fire, his laughter, his drive,
Together they swore they’d make life come alive.
From the rooftops they shouted, “This is our time!”
Two souls bound for glory, no mountain too high.
With her hand in his, he knew he’d won,
The kid from the dirt road had found his sun.
Chorus
No limits, no chains, we’re runnin’ free!
This land’s got a heartbeat, it’s singin’ to me.
From the mountains to the skyline, we’re chasin’ the light,
We can do anything under these stars tonight!
No limits, no fear, we’re takin’ our shot,
Every door’s wide open, we’re givin’ it all we got.
With the world in our hands and our souls takin’ flight,
With the world in our hands and our souls takin’ flight,
No limits, we’re livin’ this life tonight!
Outro
Yeah, no limits, just a wide-open road,
A kid and his dreams, where the future’s untold.
With America’s spirit, he’s writin’ his song,
No limits, he’s livin’ where he belongs.
Then she walked in, like a song on the breeze,
Eyes like the ocean, heart wild as the trees
She matched his fire, his laughter, his drive
Together they swore they'd make life come alive
